When I grow up

Careers in virtually all academic disciplines are fostered by being a superstar who knows more about one subject than anyone else in the world.
Philip Zimbardo

so true.

I've been thinking quite a bit about my future career, toting around my degree in English. Here are my options.

Option A:
Professor

Pros: Summer Vacation
Cons: More schooling

Option B:
Librarian

Pros: Surround by books
Cons: More schooling

Option C:
English Teacher @ High School

Pros: Summer Vacation
Cons: Lack of pay, bratty kids

Option D:
Bum

Pros: Doing nothing
Cons: Lack of pay

Ideas anyone?

For the joy of Lord is my strength...

After services last week I had this song going through my head.
It was a real comfort this past week. We lost an amazing person. One I loved and will miss a lot.
And this Sunday we talked about this exact sentiment.
How great is our God?

Sing with me.

Review: A

This was an excellent birthday gift for Haley. She loved every minute of it. The acting was dead on for Barbara's heroine Junie B. Jones. And the other five actors who played about nine parts together were great. It was fast-paced and fun. The stage was a great decorated composition book that opened. It had a few flaps for the scene to move from school to home. Definitely 3 to 8 age-appropriate.

read and enjoy

my newest feature. today's "can we talk?" is written by the fabulous author meg cabot. you should really visit her blog. she's hi-lar-ious. but the best part of her post was the link to "aliens in america."

monday at 8.30.
don't talk to me.

uno dos tres

the third name in my url: in wonderland

This has been my favorite for ages. Not sure why but I love to watch it over and over again. I also really like watching Peter Pan over and over again. But Micheal Jackson pretty much ruined "Neverland," so my friends, I am left with being in Wonderland. But that's okay.

In other news, Barbara Park's (known for bring elementry schools alike the infamous Junie B. Jones) books have been made into a play. There's a showing tonight and tomorrow and since my cousin Haley is going to be six soon I thought
I might take her. So tonight she and I will be attending Junie B. Jones (such an original title!). I hope she likes it.

day number two.

picture number two. Belle.

Normally I would say that I love the movie Cinderella more then Beauty and the Beast, but Belle is defintely my favorite Disney princess. Mostly because she likes to read and has darker hair. She's only the second to have dark hair, actually.

-Now for something entirely new

Ron Paul is up in his polls, with Romney, Guiliani, and McCain all down. On the Democrat front, Clinton leads over both Obama and Edwards still.

"'what is the use of a book,' thought Alice, 'without pictures or conversations?'"

I wanted to add some pictures last night, but it being 2 am I thought I might go to bed instead.

The first word in my url name: Scarlett, for Margaret Mitchell's heroine in her only book, Gone with the Wind. I'm not a huge fan of the movie, but Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh do make a dashing pair.

welcome

I am now officially a "blogger."

My old blog, a wordpress, was great. I love the services wordpress provides its user. However, blogspot is connected with my gmail account, and I really like that. So, as long as blogspot works out well, this is my blog. And to celebrate my first post, I give you:

Six Random Facts About My Internet Life

1. Facebook is the website I visit most often

2. I visit weddingbee.com and etsy.com for no apparent reason. I just like them.

3. I am buying a new Macbook which I plan to name Trixie or Bess.

4. I don't really care for myspace, even though I have one.

5. I watch youtube videos almost daily.

6. My url is made up of three things
a. Main character from one on my favorite books.
b. My favorite Disney Princess
c. My favorite Disney movie.

Adios for now my world wide web friends. I'll be back (said in a Arnold-like voice)
